The INASMET association was founded in 1962 as a Metallurgical Test and Analysis Laboratory. The Association changed its legal status in 1996 and became INASMET Foundation, a non-profit foundation at the service of industry. Its mission is to “actively contribute to economic and social development, by driving and facilitating innovation and technological development processes as a competitive strategy”.

Fundación INASMET is a technology centre specialized in materials, their transformation processes and their environmental adaptation, and is part of TECNALIA Corporación Tecnológica, of which it is also the founding member. The services INASMET offers to the industry are those common to innovation and technology centres, such as innovative projects and technological development, technological services, education and technological diffusion, innovation and technology management.
